System Administrator, Linux/Windows

Located in Burlington, Vermont, repeatedly selected as one of the most livable communities in the country, 800response is the leading source for Vanity 800 phone numbers with hundreds of customers in automotive, financial, real estate, and other industries.  We are seeking a System Administrator to help us manage and grow our web-based telephony platform.

We require a seasoned system administrator with at least 3 years experience managing mission-critical, real-time Linux / Windows-based networks, including:

• MySQL, RDBMSs, Active Directory, security and firewalls
• Experience managing VMWare ESXi/ESX in a managed environment
• Understanding of SAN and NAS technologies, especially EMC and NetAPP
• In-depth understanding of principles and operations of site- and process-monitoring technologies
• Strong network technology skills, including VPNs, SNMP, SMTP, IDS, et al
• Well-versed in Sendmail on Linux and Microsoft DNS on Windows 2008
• Experience maintaining Apache 2 with virtual hosts
• Ability to write and maintain system administration scripts in PHP/BASH and PERL

In addition, the position calls for a candidate who:

• Has a strong service orientation, and the ability to manage to up-time and maintenance targets
• Will share pager duty, and work a floating weekly schedule
• Can work with telco on troubles and maintenance issues
• Can effectively plan, coordinate and execute out-of-hours maintenance and project work

Additional consideration will be given to candidates experienced with Class 4 switching, ISDN-PRI, and Asterisk platforms.
